Morocco fans clashed with stewards after the match, after a late goal from Argentina's Paulo Dybala gave the South American side a 2-1 win. The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Etienne, and it was Morocco who took the lead in the first half through a goal from Sofiane Boufal. Argentina equalized in the second half through a goal from Julian Alvarez, and Dybala's late winner gave them the victory. The win gives Argentina a crucial three points in their bid to reach the knockout stages of the tournament, while Morocco will need to bounce back in their next match against Japan.
In the other Group C match, Spain beat Egypt 1-0, with Pablo Sarabia scoring the only goal of the game.
The results leave Spain top of the group with three points, followed by Argentina with three points, Morocco with zero points, and Egypt with zero points.
